Hellooooo. It doesn´t look like you are going to be getting my emails while I am on today. How are you all doing? Things are going well here and don´t worry about the sickness, it completely passed; it wont come back. The lord promised these blessings to all people. He wont take them away if you keep having faith.
I´ve had some difficulties with my new companion, but we resolved some things, and we are going to work really well together. We have found a good family that wants to prepare to be baptized in the church and we are really excited about it.
We had a Christmas conference with president yesterday which was nice because it was just our zone and the president and his wife. He taught us some things and his wife talked to us and then we heard some stories about things. It was different being with the president with fewer missionaries around and having a conversation with him. He took us out to a nice Churrascaria and I sat across from him. He really likes pineapple with his meat just like you do dad! I love the Churrascarias here, they bring around chunks of meat on metal skewers and then they slice off pieces of what you want right onto your plate. I think I already told you about this a while ago though. It was really nice to talk with them though, it always makes me happy to be around the president. It´s refreshing, pulls you back into prospective.
Sooo I really hope you get this, but if not I won't talk to you until next week.

Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008 - Emails
Hi, Are you on? Okay last week I set it up so that my received emails would be sent to another email so that I could save them to look at after my mission. The only problem is that it was erasing all of the emails from this one after they were forwarded. But no problems now, I should receive all of them on this one as well. How are you all doing?... sounds like Sammy is doing well which is good, I miss her a lot, dogs here are all idiots.
Yes, I received all of your emails. But they are on a gmail that I set up so that I could have all of these emails after the mission, I have it saving the copies on this email as well now, so no problems. I haven´t received any letters. It is good to know however that the package was not lost haha. Funny that they see vitamins as drugs, but as far as they know they are drugs turned into pills. Don´t worry about vitamins they have them here pretty cheap and sister Tobias knows what we can trust and not, so no worries there. How has the week been?
Alright, well, I have 2 stories for you and both happened on Sunday. First of all, do you remember that woman that I asked that you pray for last week? Well, she decided to be baptized! The lord guided her and she made the right decision. She was baptized at 9:30 in the morning, and then she went to Stake conference with us later in the afternoon. She wants us to help her 11 year old sun prepare for baptism as well! It was a very spiritual experience. My companion and I sang ´I like to look for rainbows´ in Portuguese, it was a very spiritual experience. She is one of the baptisms where you absolutely know she is going to stay firm in the gospel. I marvel at the love and mercy that the lord has for his children here on earth... which leads me to my second experience.
That night we went over things and talked a bit, ate a snack and went to bed. I woke up at about 2 in the morning sick, I was shivering with nausea. I went into the bathroom just in case, but nothing happened I was just feeling more and more miserable by the minute. I finally remembered something that was urged by the Stake President that very day to all of the Melchizedek priesthood holders. He said, ´use your priesthood, bless the saints, bless your families´ He taught how we have this authority not to be cool, or to say that we have it. We have it to serve and we should use it as often as possible. In that moment I knew I needed to give my companion an opportunity to use the priesthood. I woke him up at 3:00, and willingly he arose to give me a blessing. The moment that he opened his mouth and said my name, a feeling indescribable by any means other than our Father hugging me entered into my soul and filled my entire body. I began to weep as a child, almost uncontrollably my companion commanded that I be healed in that prayer. For the next 2 hours I was completely fine. I continued to weep for another 15 minutes as I knelt in prayer in thanks to my father. I cannot express the love that entered my soul, the song how firm a foundation came to my mind and since that night still brings me to tears. For whatever reason I began to feel a little sick again after about 2 hours and then I was up until about 5, but I knew that I would be completely healed according to my faith. I feel, that I had something very serious that night and the only reason that I continued to feel after affects were to remind me who had saved me from such pain. I changed that night, I am a different servant of the Lord from that experience.
I urge you to use the priesthood that you have, be ready to use it at all times, use it frequently it doesn´t need to be a once a year blessing. My siblings, ask for blessings when you feel lost or sick or afraid, it is a real blessing and you need to remember that just as the Lord takes care of the lillies and the birds he takes care of you. Love one another, don´t let a moment pass with your family, they are what is important. Be kind, be selfless, be random in your acts of charity. I love you all I keep you in my prayers and in my heart. Nothing can separate us from the love of god (Romans 8).

I will get a new companion tonight his name is Elder Lima and I don´t know him very well yet. I am really sorry that it is taking so long for this package thing, I just am so worried about it not working out... but I have other copies of the cd so no worries.
My Sundays are good. We get to the church an hour early 8:00 and then we help out with whatever is needed. We have been giving the new members class, but I think the bishop is going to call somebody to do that now. After church we go to work like any normal day.

Hey dad I don´t know how much time I have, my companion was given permission to send emails today since he was stuck in Goiania all day yesterday. He is working on school stuff. No I didn´t get the package yet. I don´t know if you got the email yesterday that said that. I got the package from Jamie, but yours wasn't there. It was either stolen or hasn´t shown up yet, sooo, I guess that´s just life huh? We´re actually really lucky, every single one of Elder Bakkers packages never made it to him. Did you already look on BYU's registration site? I set up my account.
The weather is good here, just about any time that it rains it is a thunder storm. Mom managed to get an email off to me so that was really nice. Sorry our conversation was so messed up yesterday.
We already know that my companion is being transferred to be a zone leader in another area here in the city, and I will be staying here and will received a new companion.

Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008 - Birthday Emails
I had a good birthday, nothing special happened, we went to McDonalds that was about it, and my companion was called on a trip to Goiania that very day so I had to stay in another area, but don´t worry, it didn´t matter to me haha. I am as happy as a clam as they say. My companion did something nice, he took my camera to Goiania with him and got photos of a bunch of missionaries that I know and they all said happy birthday too, so that was really cool.
Okay and about the moon, no I do not see the same cycles as you do, it is completely different actually, but no worries.
I am getting lots of emails from people and a lot less letters as of late, but no worries, I don´t get upset about stuff like that, as nice as it would be to get the letters haha no problem.
Alright well, I have to get going, but I want all of you to know that I love you and I hope you are all doing well. I am doing great and I am learning more and more all of the time. We have a lot of work to do, and that is the best. If we´re not working we´re doing something wrong. Every day I get more and more surprised about how fast time is flying by, one year is almost up and then it´s a fast countdown, I can´t believe it and it´s kind of freaking me out haha. I love this work, there isn´t a better place in the world that I could be right now, I love the people, I love this work. I am here because I love the Lord and I love my family. We are here on this earth to serve the Lord in everything we do. When what we want is what the Lord wants then we are truly happy. I want what the Lord is offering me, it´s not a game. He´s not hiding anything from us. It´s simple, do what he asks and there is your blessing. It is so cool. even hard times are blessings, hard times make us stronger and make us better. There is nothing bad that can happen to us unless we allow it to be so. As a muscle must be damaged to be strong so must we be tested to grow better. This is life, this is exaltation, progress is a part of life eternal. Don´t forget these things, if we are doing something that in anway could deter us from our eternal progress then it is not of God. The best lie is the closest to the truth, some things look so rightous except for one little thing, find the one that is all right. As the lord said in Gethsemane. Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
I love you all I pray for you often, enter not into temptation. Be happy, give hugs!

Thanks for the happy birthday, no I have not received the package yet, soooo I will probably be waiting for a while... we´ll see. Yes the president came to see us, but he didn´t have room in the car to bring packages. I haven´t noticed anything special about birthdays here to be honest. Just a normal type of celebration and gifts.... yeah wooo. haha! I am glad that you all received my letters, I am going to be better in the future I promise!
No I didn´t get any other packages either. Yeah we met the mission president, he is a great man; I am going to miss him a lot after my mission. Sorry I didn´t mean to ask about how work was I meant to say week haha. are we in a crisis there or not? they call it a crisis here in Brazil, but there it seems like everything is great.
The work is going well. We are changing some things in our work to be more efficient and I am really excited. We are so close to baptisms that it´s hard not to be excited. We are working well together, we are better friends than ever here, the only problem that I could possibly see is that we can get a bit distracted, but we always pull it back and we are getting better sooo no problems there. I heard about the prop 8, it´s causing some problems for the LA temple attenders, but they have a lot ofhelp it sounds like haha.
Well, I have got to get going, but I love you all very much, sorry the talking was a bit fast today. I love you all very very much, be happy! I know you are finishing up some email, I will respond to those, but this is my pre goodbye haha. I love you all, be nice and helpful to each other. Give lots of hugs, and pray as a family. Hey mom! No I have not received my package yet, but I am positive that it is in the mission office, looks like the earliest that I will be getting it is on the 11th of this month, so lets cross our fingers, who knows?
This week has been good. No baptisms yet, but we are close... so keep praying for them. We are trying to grow and work harder every week and we are doing well. The way time is passing I feel like I am already out of time, 2 years is soooo short I need to make the best of it, you can count on a slightly different but yet the same Cameron Summerhays when I get back. On the 11th it sounds like the president is going to be coming all of the way out here to Uberaba to talk with either the district, or just me and my companion... it´s weird he is telling my companion that he wants to give him more responsibility, but I don´t know why he is involving me in this, I am still the junior in this situation... honestly I can´t say much about this so I will just leave it.
It sounds like you have all had a fun filled week. Halloween was fun here. I decided to be a missionary for Halloween, it was great! What was everybody dressed up as for Halloween? Here Halloween is just like any normal day to tell the truth. I think the United States is the only country that lets kids out on the night of death and spirits and stuff haha. anyway... oh could you find out for me if Jamie received my latest letter... and did Taylor get my letter yet? if not tell them to hang in there... there are letters coming. Anyway. How are you?
Oh yeah, chins are definitely up. It´s just hard when are heads are bowed so much haha, lots of prayer. No I don´t have wholes in my pants yet haha, funny you say that though, my companion just found a whole in his pants on the butt haha, it made me laugh.
It´s hard to avoid the elections right now, Brazilians all wish they could vots for Obama, but they are not US citizens fortunately. Prop 8...It´s so dumb, yeah people can choose to have homosexual relationships, but you can´t redefine marriage... marriage wouldn´t even exist if it wasn´t for religion and for God, It´s His principle, I never read in the bible about gay marriage; people are so lost it´s ridiculous. It´s a sign of the times. I have sympathy for those that are truly with this problem and know that it´s not okay...
Uhhh... No, I don´t really know what I want for Christmas. I don´t need more clothes; I have too much. I never need my blanket that I brought with me, I think it´s ridiculous that was on the list. I am going to leave it in one of these houses for some Brazilian who is from a hot climate. I just want things that will make me smile because they are from you all. Silly things meaningful things, it´s up to you. Other than that just get people to send me money and put it in my account haha :)because I don´t know what I want nor do I have the ability to store big things. If there is a way to make eggnog though that would be great. The only thing I want is things from people special to me that are heartfelt, it could be something from the dollar store if it´s nice and heartfelt.... wait... okay I just thought of something, a little tiny clock that tells me the temperature in farenheit would be great. Things like small to medium sized stuff animals, or some sort of nice pen, or a hearfelt doodad of some sort, or just something I don´t know, whatever you can imagine. I have to get going now, but I love you and I hope you are all happy, be good, love everyone, give hugs.

October 28th, Emails
Hey mom, how are you? I am doing well. This week was good, we didn´t get any baptisms, but we got so close it gave me goosebumps. _____ is going to be baptised in the near future so we're just hanging in there haha. The lord does wonderful things in missionary work.
Maria Jose showed up! it was amazing, we never even managed to find her this week, but she showed up on her own and we started smiling sooo much because she was on our list of faith arrivals and baptisms. She will be baptised in the near future. Her son is going to start going to church with her because she is completely determined to be a member, and he will be baptised once he has been there for 2 Sundays.
Yeah your week did sound pretty psycho, I can just see Taylor and Lilly walking out there on the floor, that little angel, just beaming with all the attention... sheesh! Just what she likes, haha... just kidding. Taylor he needs to be soooo careful getting all the attention he is getting in school. If he is winning prince for prom, that means that there are plenty of girls that would love him to be their prince, and they are getting less and less shy these days. I can not believe how many ninteen year old girls I meet here that have 3 year old children; advise him but don´t bug him.
Tell Bryce good job for the goal he made, that is awesome. Also tell him it makes me really happy to know that he is reading instead of buying silly Pokemon cards. But I am soooooo jealous that he is going to read the third bookbefore me!!! arrrrggggg. I can´t believe it! But there will be a fourth book as well, it´s not a trilogy anymore so I will read that first ha! I can´t believe he has read Eregon and eldest already, he is really turning into a great reader that makes me really happy for him, I love reading.
Tell McKenna that she is required to be happy according to Cameron Law and that when she is sad she must turn on my John Mayer music and think of me and she will feel a lot better for sure! Tell her I love her soooo much.

Tell Bryce good job for the goal he made, that is awesome. Also tell him it makes me really happy to know that he is reading instead of buying silly Pokemon cards. But I am soooooo jealous that he is going to read the third book
Tell McKenna that she is required to be happy according to Cameron Law and that when she is sad she must turn on my John Mayer music and think of me and she will feel a lot better for sure! Tell her I love her soooo much.
